Lanzarote Style.
Accelerate
your training program with one of the best dive facilities
on the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. WASAC has teamed
up with Calipso Diving at Teguise on the Eastern side of the
island to provide training programmes to suit divers wishing
to progress from (and including) ocean diver to sports diver
and/or sports diver to dive leader.
We aim to provide training in the crystal clear and relatively
warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean at the diving resort of
Teguise based at Calipso
Diving . Calipso Diving Lanzarote is a BSAC Centre
of Excellence No. 146, a PADI Resort Centre S-9645 and an
SSI. School. Our primary aim will be to provide all the open
water (and, if required, classroom) training facilities and
the opportunity to qualify for BSAC Sports Diver and Dive
leader grades.
Mark
Thomas (Llwchwr
Sub Aqua Club), lead instructor, will organize
the training to suit all trainee divers according to their
needs. Over a 6 diving period he will provide the necessary
classroom and open-water training to qualify Ocean divers
and Sports Divers, and depending upon demand it’s
possible to fit in Dive Leader training as well! At the
same time we’ll
organize some fun diving in the bargain. The cost of a whole
package (this is a close approximation, final costing
will depend upon numbers – the more we are the
better the cost) will be in the region of £475.00
to include flights, 8 dive package, training and accommodation
(2 persons sharing a 1 bed apartment). The event can support
a maximum of 18 diver/trainees, and places will be on
a first come first serve basis. Proposed dates: Sunday
9th November to Sunday 16th November 2008.

Lanzarote,
a Spanish island, is the easternmost of the Canary Islands,
in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 125 km off the coast
of Africa and 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula. Covering
845.9 km², it stands as the fourth largest of the islands.
Diving gives you the opportunity to explore the under water
topography in crystal clear Atlantic waters together with
a tropical climate. Look just below the surface and see the
abundance of marine life, with over 500 different species
of fish amongst wrecks, and volcanic caves, in this unique
aquatic environment. Divers will find a variety of different
sites including an area designated as an underwater conservation
park, that has no less than seven interesting wrecks and visibility
of 30mtrs plus! Calipso Diving provides all the logistics
of transport, Instructor guides and kit hire, and there is
opportunity to do beach, boat and night dives.
