WASAC is recognised by the Sports Council as the governing body for all underwater sports in Wales, and as such has a responsibility to liase with various groups and institutions on behalf of our members. If you have issues regarding access to training facilites, grants, launch sites, the marine environment, or indeed anything to do with underwater sport in Wales - we are here to help and support our members.

Marine environment.

Wales is blessed with a rich and varied marine environment, and for many divers, enjoying what this has to offer is the main reason that we go diving. However, as with many ecosystems, it is a fragile and vulnerable habitat, sometimes struggling to survive when faced with the numerous demands our modern world places upon it - which is why its long-term survival is a corner-stone of our Association.

We are not alone in this, as WASAC is only one of many organisations in Wales working for a high-quality marine environment. It is our intention to introduce ourselves to these other organisations, some of which are listed alongside, and liase with them to ensure that our common goals are achieved; whilst at the same time, bringing the aims and objectives of recreational diving within this overall framework.
